Temporary Loc Extensions
How Do I Install My Temporary Dreadlocks?
SE Braid In: are installed by sectioning your hair into about square inch sections. Take the section of your own hair and push it through the loop at the top of the extension. Using a latch hook to pull your hair through is recommended, or the pointy end of a rattail comb. Once you pull the section of your hair through split the section in half giving you 3 sections. With those 3 sections, starting closest to your scalp, simply braid down the length of the extension. Once you can braid no further, secure with an elastic band.
DE Braid In: are installed by placing the half way mark of the extension at the base of the section of hair (top part closest to your scalp). Use a clip to secure the top part of the extension above the section you're going to braid. Now split your section of hair in half giving you 3 pieces including the extension. Take those 3 sections and simply braid down the length of the extension. Once you can braid no further, secure with an elastic band. Remove the clip that was holding the top half of the extension out of the way, and lay that flat over the section that was just braided.
SE Into Existing Dreadlocks: Take your dreadlock and pull it through the loop at the top of the extension. Using a latch hook to help guide it through is recommended, or the pointy end of a rattail comb. Once the dreadlock is pulled through, slide the extension all the way up to the scalp. If the loop of the extension is either too tight or too loose, you can also create a slip knot with the SE extension and pull your dreadlock through, looping them around your dreads that way instead. Once your dreadlock is pulled through and the extensions is all the way to the scalp, just give the body of the extension a gently pull and it will secure it tightly at the base.
DE Into Existing Dreadlocks: Wrap an elastic band around the extension just below the half way mark. Pull your dreadlock through the loop created between the elastic band and the half way point of the extension. Slide the loop all the way up your dreadlock and gently tighten the 2 sections of the extension to secure the elastic band tightly at the base. Another way to install DE is to take an elastic band and create a slip knot around the half way point of the extension. Take the loop of the elastic band created by the slip knot, and use that to tie a couple times around the base of your dreadlock.
